About Programme
The Department of Psychology, affiliated to Izmir Democracy University Faculty of Arts and Sciences, was established in 2020. The education language of the Department of Psychology, which provides a four-year formal education, is English. While an associate professor, an assistant professor, and a research assistant are working in the Department of Experimental Psychology, an assistant professor is working in the Department of Clinical Psychology.

History
The department received its students for the first time in the 2020-2021 academic year. Our department will continue to provide education with both Turkish and English Psychology programs in the 2021-2022 academic year.

Admission Requirements
Students should pass the centrally administered entrance exam conducted by ÖSYM.

Higher Grade Transition
The students graduating from this program may apply to graduate programs.

Graduation Requirements
The degree is awarded to students who successfully completes a minimum of 240 ECTS from the course units of the programme with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.

Occupational Profiles of Graduates
IDU Psychology Graduates can work at public and private health institutions, national or international research centers, or non-governmental organizations, public relations and advertising industry, human resources department of companies, education or AR-GE units, psychological counseling centers, kindergartens, prisons, nursing homes and rehabilitation centers and centers for evaluating psychological states of drivers. In addition, students can work as academicians if they wish.
