About Programme

Psychology, which extends from the functioning of nerve cells to the emotional and intellectual processes of humans, from infancy to old age, from individual behavior to group behavior, has a very wide research area. These broad research areas have enabled Psychology to have different sub-fields such as Clinical Psychology, Experimental Psychology, Developmental Psychology, Social Psychology, Industrial and Organizational Psychology and Health Psychology. In our department, it is aimed for our students to master the basic concepts and theories of these different fields of Psychology in the first 2 years, and to deepen their knowledge through elective courses in the sub-fields that interest them from the 3rd and 4th years. The language of instruction in our departments is English and Turkish.

The faculty members of the Psychology Department, which met with their students for the first time in the 2020-2021 academic year, are selected from individuals who have international research in their field of expertise, have high teaching skills and strong communication with their students. There are 9 faculty members in the department, including 1 Associate Professor, 5 Doctoral Faculty Members and 3 Research Assistants.

History
The department received its students for the first time in the 2020-2021 academic year. Our department will continue to provide education with both Turkish and English Psychology programs in the 2021-2022 academic year.

Students should pass the centrally administered entrance exam conducted by ÖSYM.

The students graduating from this program may apply to graduate programs.
Graduation Requirements
The degree is awarded to students who successfully completes a minimum of 240 ECTS from the course units of the programme with a grade point average (GPA) of at least 2.00 out of 4.00.
Occupational Profiles of Graduates
IDU Psychology Graduates can work at public and private health institutions, national or international research centers, or non-governmental organizations, public relations and advertising industry, human resources department of companies, education or AR-GE units, psychological counseling centers, kindergartens, prisons, nursing homes and rehabilitation centers and centers for evaluating psychological states of drivers. In addition, students can work as academicians if they wish.
